The Santa Barbara Shellfish Company family began on Stearn's Wharf in 1980.

Originating as a fresh seafood wholesale operation, we began experimenting with some different cooking ideas.

A popular place for lunch, The Shellfish Company specializes in steamed crab, local lobster and ridge-back shrimp.

In 1999, we opened the FisHouse on Cabrillo, our first venture into the full dining arena.

Now we complete the trio with the Boathouse, and continue our commitment to serving fresh local product, and sourcing the finest seafood anywhere.

Located on Santa Barbaras historic Stearns Wharf, the Shellfish Company restaurant remains the destination for fresh shellfish and seafood dining in Santa Barbara for over 25 years.

It is here where locals and visitors strolling by always stop to marvel at the saltwater tanks and postcard views of the glistening Pacific and the nearby Channel Islands.

The Santa Barbara Shellfish Company's extraordinary menu includes luscious crab cakes as one of their specialties that has been sought after and until now a well kept family secret.

New England style clam chowder and a hearty Italian Cioppino served in fresh bread bowls, jumbo shrimp, mussels, scallops and market squid sauteed in white wine, garlic and herbs.

Marvelous lobster tacos served with homemade salsa and a kaleidoscope of spectacular oyster dishes from the best cold water oysters served on the half shell, to Oyster Luckyfeller, their version of the timeless favorite Oyster Rockefeller and mouth watering colossal-size Oyster Poor Boys.
